Show the Quality of Your Work Before You Quote
We build WordPress sites for builders that display completed projects, FMB credentials, and the kind of professionalism that wins contracts.
A builder without a website is leaving money on the table
Building is a visual trade. Homeowners want to see what you've done before they trust you with a £50,000 extension. Word of mouth still matters, but these days even personal recommendations get checked online. If someone Googles your company name and finds nothing, or worse, a half-finished website from 2015, you've lost credibility before you've even quoted. We've worked with builders from single-person outfits to firms running twenty-plus staff, and the ones with proper websites consistently win better jobs at better prices.
Your WordPress site should work like a digital portfolio combined with a sales pitch. Big project galleries with proper descriptions, clear breakdowns of what you do - extensions, loft conversions, new builds, renovations - and your Federation of Master Builders or TrustMark badges visible from the homepage. We also build quote request forms that capture enough detail for you to give realistic estimates, which saves everyone time. No homeowner wants to describe their kitchen extension three times over the phone.
Every project is led by Mark McNeece, founder of Press Forge and 365i.

What I'd Build First for a Builder, and Why
First build: a project gallery with real photographs organised by job type (extensions, lofts, renovations), each with a short factual caption covering scope and duration. Building work is a five-figure purchase decided largely on trust, and nothing builds it like evidence of finished work. I'd put photography budget ahead of copywriting budget for this trade, every time.
What I'd reject: stock imagery, full stop. A builder's site with stock photos of smiling architects actively damages trust, because the one thing a potential customer is trying to judge is the quality of your actual work. An honest photo of a real extension in an ordinary garden outperforms a polished stock render.
The rules your website has to respect
- Building Regulations approved documents: reference the relevant approved documents on service pages; customers researching extensions search for this
- CDM Regulations 2015: stating your CDM duties plainly reassures domestic clients who've read horror stories
- Federation of Master Builders: if you're a member, link your profile; the FMB check-a-member page is third-party proof
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about WordPress websites for builders
Most builders invest between £2,000 and £4,000 in a WordPress site. The cost depends on the size of your portfolio and how many service pages you need. A strong project gallery is worth paying extra for, as it's the page that converts browsers into enquiries.
Yes. We set up WordPress so you can upload project photos, add descriptions, and organise them by category without any coding. Most of our builder clients take site photos on their phone and upload them directly. It takes about five minutes per project.
It genuinely does. We've had builders tell us they started getting enquiries for larger projects within weeks of launching. A professional website with detailed project galleries and proper credentials signals that you're a serious operation, not a one-man band working out of a Transit.
We usually recommend showing price ranges rather than fixed prices. "Extensions typically start from £35,000" gives prospects a ballpark without locking you in. It also filters out people with unrealistic budgets, saving you time on quotes that go nowhere.
We display your Federation of Master Builders badge with a link to your FMB profile page. We can also pull in your FMB rating and reviews. It's one of the most recognised trade accreditations in the UK and adds real credibility.
We do. Commercial builders often need contractor portals, document download areas, and detailed service specifications. We've built sites for firms working on commercial fit-outs, industrial builds, and public sector contracts.
