Your website is the first thing anxious patients see

Dental anxiety is real. Nearly half of UK adults feel nervous about visiting the dentist. Your website is often the first thing they see, and it needs to reassure them, not add to their stress. We build WordPress websites for dental practices that are calm, clear, and professional. Treatment explanations in plain English, team photos that put a face to the name, and a straightforward way to register or book. We understand that dental websites have specific regulatory requirements. CQC registration details, GDC numbers for each dentist, and proper complaint procedures all need to be visible and accessible.

Whether you're a mixed NHS and private practice or fully private, your website needs to make the distinction clear. We build separate sections for NHS treatments and private services so patients know exactly what's available and what it costs. New patient registration forms, emergency appointment requests, and treatment plan pages all reduce the volume of phone calls your reception team handles. We've built sites for single-surgery practices and multi-site dental groups, and we know what the CQC expects to see online.

What I'd Build First for a Dental Practice, and Why

First build: a fees page and a new-patient page, in that order. "Dentist prices near me" and "dentist taking new patients" are the two searches that matter commercially, and most practice websites answer neither. A clear fee table with NHS bands and private prices side by side does more for bookings than any amount of smile photography.

What I'd reject: before-and-after galleries as the lead content. They have a place, but GDC guidance on advertising means claims and imagery need care, and in practice the patients worth the most to a practice (nervous ones, lapsed ones) are won by reassurance and price clarity, not by veneer showcases.

The rules your website has to respect

  • General Dental Council standards: GDC guidance covers how practices advertise, including website claims; your content needs to respect it
  • Care Quality Commission: link your CQC rating page; an independent inspection report is the strongest trust signal a practice site can carry
  • NHS dental charges: referencing the official band prices makes your own fee table instantly credible
