Selling online shouldn't mean wrestling with your website

Running an online shop is hard enough without a website that fights you at every turn. We've built WooCommerce stores for retailers across the UK, from single-product specialists to shops with thousands of SKUs. Every store we build is designed to make your daily routine simple. Add products, adjust prices, run a flash sale, process refunds. All from one WordPress dashboard you actually enjoy using. Your customers get a fast, clean shopping experience. You get a store that practically runs itself.

WooCommerce powers over 35% of online stores worldwide. There's a reason for that. It gives you full control over your data, your design, and your customer relationships. No monthly platform fees eating into your margins. No restrictions on how many products you list. We connect your store to Stripe, PayPal, and other payment gateways your customers trust. Royal Mail, DPD, and Hermes shipping options are built right in. And when Black Friday hits, your site won't buckle because we build for performance from day one.

What I'd Build First for an Online Shop, and Why

First build: the product page template, before the homepage, before the brand pages. Product pages are where search traffic lands and where money changes hands: structured data for rich results, reviews on the page, delivery costs and returns stated above the fold, real photography. Get the template right once and every product inherits it; get it wrong and no homepage can save the conversion rate.

What I'd reject: cloning marketplace-style navigation (mega menus, endless filters, breadcrumb mazes) for a shop with fifty products. Navigation should be as small as the catalogue allows. I'd also reject hiding delivery costs until checkout; it's the single best-documented cause of cart abandonment and somehow still the default.

The rules your website has to respect

  • Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013: the 14-day cancellation right and pre-purchase information rules that shape what your product and checkout pages must say
  • Consumer Rights Act 2015: your returns and refunds policy has to match it; a plain-English policy page that cites it builds checkout confidence
  • PECR cookie rules: e-commerce sites run more tracking than most; the consent banner has to actually comply, not just appear
