Pub websites that keep your bar busy all week
We build WordPress sites for pubs that showcase your food, events, beer garden, and live sport. Everything your punters need in one place.
More than just a drinks menu. Your pub website should tell the full story.
Pubs do a lot more than pour pints. You're running a kitchen, hosting quiz nights, showing live sport, booking function rooms, and managing beer garden season. Your website needs to keep up with all of it. We build WordPress sites for pubs that handle the lot, from food menus and event calendars to table bookings and private hire enquiries. We've worked with village locals, gastro pubs, and busy city bars across the UK.
Most pub websites we've seen are either a single page with outdated info or a Facebook page that's hard to find on Google. Neither works. Google prioritises proper websites with structured data, opening hours, and location info. We build your pub site to rank for local searches so when someone types "pub near me" or "Sunday roast in [your town]", you show up. We also make sure your live sport schedule and events are easy to find and share.
Every project is led by Mark McNeece, founder of Press Forge and 365i.

What I'd Build First for a Pub, and Why
First build: a what's-on page that someone actually maintains, because "what's on near me tonight" is the search that fills quiet weeknights. The catch is that a stale events page is worse than none: it tells the customer nobody's minding the shop. So I'd build it to be updated from a phone in under a minute, or feed it from the pub's social posts automatically, and treat that workflow as part of the build.
What I'd reject: the full menu as a downloaded PDF. It's unreadable on a phone, invisible to Google, and always out of date. A text menu with prices does more for food trade than any photography budget, and Sunday roast bookings alone usually justify it.
The rules your website has to respect
- Premises licences: the licensing framework every pub operates under; relevant if your site promotes events, late openings, or off-sales
- Food hygiene ratings (FHRS): gastro trade is won on food trust; link the rating rather than mentioning it
- British Beer and Pub Association: the industry body; its guidance on responsible promotion is the standard your offers content should meet
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about WordPress websites for pubs
Yes. Adding a new event takes about two minutes in WordPress. You fill in the date, time, description, and an image if you want one. We build the calendar to display everything automatically in date order. Perfect for weekly quiz nights or one-off events.
We build a dedicated sport section where you list upcoming matches with dates, kick-off times, and which competition they're from. Some of our pub clients update this weekly. It brings in a lot of search traffic, especially around big fixtures.
Every menu item includes the 14 major allergens as required by the Food Standards Agency. Customers can see at a glance what's in each dish. You update this in WordPress whenever a recipe or supplier changes. It's a legal requirement and we make it simple.
Absolutely. We add table booking for regular dining and a separate enquiry form for function room hire. The function form captures event type, guest numbers, date, and any special requirements. Everything comes straight to your email or booking system.
That's one of the main goals. We build local SEO into every pub site with proper schema markup, Google Business Profile integration, and location-specific content. We've helped pubs rank for "best pub in [area]" and similar searches that drive real footfall.
Definitely. We create a dedicated beer garden page with photos, seating capacity, and info about heating and covered areas. This page gets a lot of traffic from spring onwards. People actively search for pubs with outdoor space, especially in good weather.
